PhotoTopo

PhotoTopo are digital USGS orthophoto imagery formatted for AutoCAD. These images come with an easy to use AutoCAD program which seamlessly joins multiple maps and geo-references the image in the real world. The program allows the user to place images into UTM and State Plane projections in both NAD 83 and NAD 27 datums.

Note on Image Samples:
Because these images have been converted to a JPEG format, and processed so they can be viewed with a web browser, the sharpness and quality is not as good as the source orthophoto from which they were created.

What is an Orthophoto
An orthophoto is an aerial photograph with the accuracy of a map. Orthophotography is used by engineers, surveyors, planners and environmental professionals needing rectified aerial photography at a reasonable cost.

These images are aerial photographs taken from aircraft flying at an altitude of 20,000 feet. The photographs are scanned and digitally corrected to remove distortion. The resulting image resolution is one meter. These are the lowest priced high-resolution orthophotography available.
